The Angeles Crest Highway is a two-lane (one lane of travel in each direction) segment of State Route 2 in the United States. The road is 66 miles in length, with its western terminus at the intersection at Foothill Boulevard in La Canada Flintridge and its eastern terminus at State Route 138 northeast of Wrightwood. The majority of the route passes through the mountainous terrain located north of the Los Angeles basin. Its alignment passes through the Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Mountains. Segments of the road reach altitudes above 7,000 feet, with a summit of 7,903 feet at the Dawson Saddle, which makes this road one of the highest in Southern California.

Last I checked it was still closed. I do know of a way that is open and you can go all the way through.

I just checked the caltrans website and it still says that hwy 2 is still closed.
That's ok as it's only the first section that is closed. Starting from where I mentioned above you can still go all the way through to Wrightwood. That's the best part of the road I think.

I don't wanna say yes or no yet, but I will say it is very tempting!

I'm planning on making this run...we just need to make sure of the route and a good meeting spot, breakfast options, etc. John let me know if you need any help planning this thing.

what's the alternate route?how do you bypass it because I was there last weekend and it's closed

dam it im gonna have to go up there some time this week maybe after work i should just head up there...

were not going up all of hwy 2 just part of it it should be open last year it said it was closed and it was open...

I downed a monster at the end of my shift and scouted the route... It is closed but there is an alternate drive I will post it up but for this familiar with the area we will go up hwy 39 take east fork to gmr I'll post the route when I'm at work tonight with new meet up spot!

The drive was super fun even by myself only saw a handful of bicyclist was in 2/3 gear most of the time

this drive is fun as long as pickups know how to pull out of the way lol

Yeah trucks that go slow and can't see a train of 8 cars behind them flashing there lights do suck.

Loki this sounds good too. Just mentioning that I know of a way around the closed part of the 2 if you still wanted to go that route. But I'm down for what ever. Just post a time and a spot to meet and I'm there.
